The Doorbell of Dreams spin-off: We pitched on a Ferris wheel and won

In June this year, blossom & beau founder Amanda pitched on the Wheel of Dreams - a spin-off from the hugely popular Doorbell of Dreams - sealing backing from some of the UK's leading entrepreneurs and industry titans.

It’s fair to say it was a momentous moment for our natural deodorant brand blossom & beau - and a slightly terrifying moment for Amanda, as she is scared of heights!

From the Doorbell of Dreams to a Ferris Wheel: the idea behind the concept

Watch Amanda pitch on the Wheel of Dreams

If you've ever seen a video of an entrepreneur nervously buzzing a doorbell and pitching their business idea in 60 seconds, you've probably stumbled across the work of Simon Squibb. Known for his viral move of buying a staircase in London and putting a doorbell on it where people come from far and wide to pitch their dreams, Simon is on a mission to help 10 million people kickstart their businesses.

His platform, HelpBnk, powers the whole thing, a touring initiative that visits towns and cities across the UK, giving budding entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their ideas in 60 seconds to a global audience.

The Wheel of Dreams, powered by HelpBnk and brought to life by Bristol's Founders Playground, takes the same electrifying concept as the Doorbell of Dreams and cranks it up, quite literally. A big, visible, slightly nerve-wracking Ferris Wheel in Bristol, where founders step into a live-streamed pod and share what they're building with the world.

As the Ferris wheel lifts each founder up, so does the idea, providing a curated experience designed to connect brands with investors, mentors, co-founders, and the introductions that can change everything.

The blossom & beau Wheel of Dreams pitch

Amanda had just 60 seconds to explain why every young girl deserves a natural deodorant made just for her. As the Ferris wheel spun, Amanda shared her lightbulb moment, the blossom & beau story of her school run with her 7-year-old daughter Chloe, and how she built a sustainable natural deodorant brand from scratch as a mum of five and a dedicated NHS paramedic.

The investment secured through the Wheel of Dreams will go directly into growing blossom & beau, including expanding the range, reaching more families across the UK, and continuing to build a brand that genuinely puts girls first.

Why the Wheel of Dreams matters

Being selected for, and winning, the Wheel of Dreams isn't just about the funding, it's about validation. Each pitch is judged by a panel of highly experienced entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneurs, and mentors. They understood what blossom & beau is building and chose to back the brand, believing in the product and what we are striving to do.

“For a brand that started with a single product, made in the UK, built on the belief that girls deserve better, it’s an endorsement that truly means the world to me, adding weight to everything that blossom & beau is doing and everything that the brand is building towards,” Amanda explains.

What's next for blossom & beau

This is just the beginning! blossom & beau launched with the Dazzling Diva natural deodorant, which is 98.71% natural, aluminium-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and dermatologically tested and made just for girls. And now, we're thrilled to be adding the Dazzling Diva Body Mist to the family, which boasts the same gorgeous Parma Violet and Peony fragrance, now in a light, refreshing body spray.

Our success on The Wheel of Dreams means more products and more brand awareness, and that means more girls feeling confident.
